Having a cigarette and waiting for the water to boil in the sweet new jacket (that I got yesterday, which was my birthday).
If it really snows, my crummy birthday may be redeemed.
Happy belated Birthday !
No one could tell me where my soul might be, I searched for G_d but he eluded me, I sought my brother out and found all three.
- Howard Crosby

A truly sad story.

“Sunscreen” - Swimmingpool The Band
Before I go to bed, here’s my latest song and my latest full album (both free). I posted it earlier tonight and I hope you enjoy. Thank you to those who already liked or reblogged it.

In the hard stretches of one of the many heat-waves this summer, I wrote Sunscreen. It remains one of my favorites as it’s somewhat punchier/more accessible than some of my other work on the album.
It was also the first song I recorded with found-sound sampled beats (mostly me kicking things, hitting things or clapping). The lyrics are simple and very straight forward. Beyond that, it’s all interwoven guitars and vocals. I play everything on this song (as well as the whole album).
Milagros grew out of a frustrated period of writer’s block. Though it’s five songs long, as a running length of a short LP (30+ minutes) and I consider it to be a full album in its pacing, structure and pieces. I am very happy with the end result and I hope that you enjoy it as well.
Let me know what you think!
A special thanks again to divespell who helped me come up with the album title. Go follow him.
The Lyrics are below.
“come over tonight
it’s too hot outside
in the day it’s too bright
the sidewalks are full
of strangers
And I feel small
I feel like I’m being watchedIt gets hard
to wake up in the morning
I don’t want to be alone
with my dreams
they get hard for me”The tracklisting (with links to the previous songs) is below:
As for my other recent releases (click to download each album):
MENA quoted a spokesman for the government as saying that only tourists coming on pre-arranged package tours will have unrestricted entry to Egypt.
Mohamad Hegazy said a new government decree will require that all visitors apply for a visa from an Egyptian embassy abroad.
Hegazy did not explain the motives behind the new measure or say when the new regulation will take effect.
The move appears to be the latest salvo against free entry and residency for foreigners in Egypt following the uprising that toppled President Hosni Mubarak in February.
Nationals of the Arab Gulf states, Latin America, Japan and other wealthy Asian countries, and Australians are among those affected by the new restrictions
Wait, hold on. Economics isn’t my specialty, but considering tourism is a major source of foreign currency and employment for Egypt, I’m not sure how this all fits in.
This is sad. So sad.
